CANDY
Candy series is just for fun, one of the early explorations I did while I was first learning about encaustic. Encaustic is such a versatile and interesting medium, able to be smooth and satiny or lumpy, rough, or virtually whatever you want it to be. It is a preservative as it is made of beeswax. Just as the bees save their honey, I preserved various kinds of candy in these paintings. For some reason this all started because I got nostalgic about various candies I ate as a kid; Neccos, in particular.
